At the time of this recording we had been playing together for about 15 years. After almost ten years of driving 300 miles to practice and play dances, Jim moved to St. Louis in 1994. That made getting together to practice more convenient, although it still didn't happen all that much. We did, however, play a lot more often. We hadn't done any recording for 10 years and figured that we'd give it another go. So what you have here is our third recording in fifteen years and our first CD. In choosing material for this album, we were a little more introspective this time around, looking for the most part, a liitle closer to home. Missouri has long been home to some of the finest fiddlers anywhere, and we were fortunate in meeting many of them over the years. From them we learned some nice tunes from all four corners of the state and points in between. We included some of our current favorites here. To top it off, we threw in a few songs by some of the early greats of country music, learned from old 78 records. We hope you'll sit back, kick off your shoes, and join us Ill-Mo style ... while we laugh and grow fat.
